In 1997, Bob was teaching in a middle school. In less than a week (3 days), he inspired 87 students to fundraise over $3300 for a young boy dying of cancer. The following Monday, the boy and his mother stood on stage as one by one, Bob’s students handed the boy their contribution. Through a partnership with the Make-A-Wish foundation, the money was used to provide a special trip for the boy to Disney World.
